Faraon De La Montana

Howard Peet (trainer) on board. Stills I took off my personal promotional vdeo.

Pure Spanish Andalusian Stallion

Faraon De La Montana passes on to his offspring, his outstanding agile movement, kind temperament, grace, and beauty.  He has proven to produce color and excellence.  It is my goal at Rare Rock Andalusians to strive for good quality foals for whatever discipline you want to use them for.  You would not only be riding History; you would be riding a horse of ultimate and unending talents. A true partner willing to please.

The Andalusian or Half Andalusian and Azteca (Andalusian X Quarter Horse AQHA) and American Azteca (Andalusian X APHA or AQHA)  are proving their versatility.  They are being shown in Western Pleasure and Reining, as well as Hunter and English Pleasure events.  A number of Andalusian owners show them in Trail classes.  In fact, the Andalusian's legacy as a Spanish mountain dweller from the rugged Iberian Peninsula makes it especially suited and sure-footed for trail riding.  Dressage, of course, since it was written for the Andalusian breed and inspired the Spanish Riding Schools for High Airs is where they really shine.  However, because of the breeds cat-like agility and speed known for fighting the fierce Iberian bulls of Spain, it is extremely suited for Reining and Cutting competition as well as a Working Cow Horse.  When it comes to agility and the ability to work cattle, the Andalusian is second to none. After all  for thousands of years he had been through countless battles with the wild and deadly Iberian bulls in competition for gracing rights. Watching an Andalusian at these events is a real joy.  Because of their build, intelligence, courage, agility, and quick movements, these horses can excel to excellence in these disciplines.  Roping or Team Penning is another strong competition for the Andalusian.  Creatures of Profound Grace, Natural Acrobats, Natural Collection, and the picture of equine elegance and beauty.  Its quite a treat to watch, and especially to experience riding the Andalusian performing any maneuver.

For millennia before man along the sandy banks of the Guadalquivir River in southern Spain, now known as Andalusia, the ancestors of today's Spanish horse grazed among the dangerous bulls of the region. Constantly in danger, the horse developed keen senses, agility and long powerful curved neck and powerful limbs capable of spinning it out of harm's way. These noble horses who still taunt the horns of the bulls of the "corridas" of Spain are scarcely changed from their beginnings. (Watch this video for an example of the incredible movement.~) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc8uPP79WEU&feature=fvw

The Andalusian has strong bone structure and extremely good hooves.  Strong hock action with a lot of drive off the hind quarters and are naturally collected with quick powerful turn.   Other breeds of horses when bred to the Andalusian are proven to produce these improved traits to their offspring.  Almost every Western breed is a descendant of the Andalusian, since the Andalusians were the first horse to walk on the American continent.  Book your mare to Faraon De La Montana for the Spring. Transported semen can be available if booked in advance.

It is also my goal to produce outstanding, quality Andalusians, Half Andalusian  and Azteca horses for you to enjoy and have as your new partner.  I even offer you a Foal Payment Plan on terms for you to acquire one of his offspring more affordably.  Take a look through my site and enjoy.

Movies to watch with Andalusians in them are:

Legend, The Phantom, Zorro, Lord of the Rings,
Battlefield Earth, Van Helsing, Man In The Iron Mask,
Sleepy Hollow, Braveheart, The Patriot, Kingdom Of
Heaven, The Three Musketeers, The Musketeer, Rob Roy,
Ever After, First Knight, Bedazzled, The Brothers
Grimm, LadyHawk, A Knights Tale, King Arthur, Merlin,
Gladiator, Troy, and Alexander.

To truly appreciate the Andalusian one must experience one for oneself....be it 1/2 Andalusian or a Purebred Andalusian.

Not only is the Andalusian enjoyed for its beauty and graceful movement, but also for its peaceful temperament.  Despite the fiery impression it makes, this horse is quite docile and affectionate toward people.  Andalusians are good natured and extremely intelligent!  They want to please the rider, doing whatever movement you ask of them.

Coming Soon~!!

I have spent many many weeks and months of working with agates and will disclose my works for sale very soon.

Montana Moss Agate is one of the most beautiful agates. Found in the Flaxville gravel deposits scattered over a large area encompassing hundreds of square miles. They cannot be "claimed", mined and dug-out by a few enterprises but rather they available, to those that look for them, for tens and hundreds of years.  The fresh exposures do get hunted quite a bit by those that are persistent rock hounds or collectors.  It takes a good eye when hunting for them.

Montana Moss Agate, a name given to the beautiful chalcedony found, most abundantly, in the gravels of the Yellowstone River. The tremendous volcanic activity that produced the conditions necessary for the formation of agate, spanned hundreds of miles and millions of years.

Although it's genesis centered in the Yellowstone park area.   The volcanic activity ranged from the eastern Rocky Mountain front in south-central Wyoming to the western front of the Black Hills and north across eastern Montana. During the Ice Age massive melting released the agates and scattered them all along the Yellowstone River to North Dakota.

Eastern Montana and Western North Dakota was mostly a shallow inland ocean, almost a swamp with huge forests lining it's shores and islands of volcanoes spewing forth lava to entomb parts of the forest in lava and ash. The bowels of the Yellowstone bulged and roared and flowed mountains of lava that decimated thousands of acres of mighty redwoods and sequoias for hundreds of miles around. This decimation continued for hundreds of years with layer upon layer of forests growing up and then being driven down under the ponderous weight of all the mega-tons of lava and ash. The hot lava devoured most of the wood in it's rush to cover the trees, but some of the shape and ingredients of the limbs remained trapped in the cooling lava. When the time of volcanoes and lava was subdued and the rains came, mineral laden silica-water flowed into the cavities and pockets left by the dying trees and bubbling lava. As flow after flow slowly filled the pockets with liquefied silica, Montana Agate was born.

The Montana agate is usually a creamy light yellow to almost clear color with embedded moss structures in varying shades of brownish red to black.  Most of these Montana agates are found in gravel deposits from the Pleistocene age (10,000 - 1,6000,000) in  the area of the Yellowstone River and its tributaries.

Agates are hard stones between 6.5-8 on the Mohs scale.  They take an exceptional polish  and are used extensively in jewelry and carvings.

Agate is the Mystical birthstone for the month of September and the birth stone for the Zodiac sign of Gemini. Agate is suggested as a stone to give on the 12th and 14th wedding anniversaries.
