Percheron X Thoroughbred

Onyx was born 1995True Black.  ONYX is in foal to Faraon De La Montana for a 2006  foal.  

  Her sire is a Reg. Black and White Spotted (Percheron) Draft. Her dam is a Black Thoroughbred.   Faraon and Onyx have really complemented each other to produce an exceptional bay filly that will not grey.  Foals are built to be suitable for jumping or dressage.  Onyx is well trained; some lower level dressage and lots of western trail riding.  She is very sweet and calm and willing yet spirited.  She is very round with a low set tail and a powerhouse of a horse. She looks baroque!  Elegant and yet has lots size.

We took Onyx on the 2003 Culbertson Wagon and Trail Ride on Labor Day weekend in Culbertson, Montana.  Two days riding 13 to 15 miles each day.  Country Music band out side under the stars at night after our steak diner cooked over an open fire grill and beer batter pancakes in the morning and lunch served on the trail.  What a great time!  Over 500 riders and 30 plus horse drawn wagons on the ride.   Onyx had a blast... as did we all. She was such an excellent girl and took great care of Scott even though it was her first ever experience such as this!   Here are a few pictures to share with you, with Scott aboard.  WOW....the compliments we got from dozens of people on the trail ride.  She is really a looker with a powerful hind end.
