I would like to say a little bit about some of the results by
crossing the different breed of horses to the Andalusian.
American Azteca: Here in the USA The American Azteca is the result of breeding a
registered Purebred Andalusian to a registered Paint Horse (APHA) or AQHA.
The American Azteca registry allows APHA's, this
way you can have that splash of color!
Azteca: Registry of Mexico. The Azteca is the result of breeding a
registered Purebred Andalusian stallion to a registered Purebred Quarter Horse.
The Azteca is the national horse of Mexico used for working cattle. Both
the American Azteca and the Azteca inherit beauty, temperament, pride,
strength, agility, heart, spirit and natural collection from their Andalusian
sire. From their dam they receive strength, heart and speed. This
breed of horses are a good balance between the two breeds. They
receive the improved bone and hoof of the Andalusian as well as freedom of
shoulder and hip movement. This makes the Azteca to be incredibly
athletic and sturdy with a long sloping shoulder and natural collection.
Their athletic ability is astounding. They are revered as skillful
working cow horse, reining horse and cutting horse.
Hispano-Arabe: The Hispano-Arabe is a result of
breeding a registered Purebred Andalusian stallion to a registered Purebred
Arabian mare. The combination creates a beautiful, brilliant, floating
action with strength, power and elegance. Very breathtaking horses!
The Hispano-Arabe has been a respected breed for a long time in Europe.
They are a popular dressage and pleasure mounts that are prized for their
athletic ability and regal bearing. This Andalusian-Arabian cross
ideally produces an intelligent, level-headed, bold moving horse of superb
quality and presence.
Spanish-Norman: The Spanish-Norman is a result of
breeding a registered Purebred Andalusian stallion to a registered Percheron
mare. This is a rare and exclusive breed. These were also powerful
equine chargers of the medieval knights. They are an excellent
sporthorse of today.
And as you look at the pictures, of some foals born on my
farm by Faraon De La Montana, the crosses mentioned above are just some results from crossing the
Andalusian to other breeds. The Quarter Horse, Paints, Tennessee Walker, Morgan,
Thoroughbred, Paso Fino, Peruvian Paso, Friesian and many other breeds are excellent
prospects for breeding to Faraon De La Montana. Even if you breed your
non-registered mare to Faraon De La Montana the offspring can be
registered 1/2 Andalusian. There is
no mistaking an Andalusian or even a half Andalusian. Your mare
must be approved for breeding to Faraon De La Montana by the farm to ensure
that a quality foal will be produced by this mating.
